Strengthening & Revitalizing Communities
Community Gaming has been involved in charitable gaming for decades. We pride ourselves in providing the best opportunities for charities to raise funds for their needs and the needs of the community. Currently, over 400 local charities benefit from the funds raised through Traditional Bingo, Electronic Bingo, Play on Demand games and Vegas-style cabinet games. Together we have raised over $50,000,000 helping to strengthen and revitalize the many communities in Windsor and Essex County. Here are just a few of those charities:
Hospice Of Windsor
Founded in 1979, Hospice offers palliative and end-of-life care to our community, caring for patients at their two residential homes (Windsor and Erie Shores/Leamington), as well as offering care to patients in their own homes. With only partial government funding, it has been through the generous support of our community that Hospice has become the first palliative hospice village in North America. Over time, The Hospice has adapted to meet the needs of the community and continues to address the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families, now and into the future. They have held an important partnership with Charitable Gaming in Windsor since 2012, and they are so appreciative of our players who help provide this support.
Victim Services
Victim Services of Windsor & Essex County is a non-profit charitable organization that assists Police and Emergency services to respond to victims of crime or tragedy during individual or multi-victim incidents. They provide crisis assistance in the immediate aftermath of traumatic incidents. They train crisis response volunteers, provide public education to community providers, as well as provide ongoing in-service training for emergency services, hospital personnel and community partner agencies. Services are coordinated by 4 staff, a community-based Board of Directors and approximately 80+ trained and committed crisis volunteers who are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They provide assistance to all victims in Windsor & Essex County and respond to requests for assistance from police services and other emergency personnel. The Funds raised through Charitable Gaming have helped this service to continue in our community.
Gina Lori Riley Dance Enterprises
Founded in 1979 by Gina Lori Riley and Robert Riley in order to fulfill their vision of establishing a professional contemporary dance company in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. The Company was incorporated in September 1981 as a registered nonprofit charitable organization. The mission of the Company is to advance the art of dance theatre through the development of original work, through performance, and community education in an exemplary manner as a Canadian professional contemporary dance theatre company. Most recently the company’s focus has shifted from producing a regular season of activity and touring to creating new work that challenges and questions the possibilities of form and content in an effort to discover the dramatic vehicle of movement expression. Gina Lori Riley Dance Enterprises has created over five dozen works involving the talents of cross-disciplined arts professionals. Its partnership with Charitable Gaming has enabled the Company to continue to provide services and programs of dance and physical theatre by professional artists.
